The weather's warming up, and your bike's ready to come out of slumber. If you're anything like us. You're itching to hit the road again.
But don't forget! Winter can leave your bike needing some love before the riding season. We've got the scoop on everything you need to know.
3 tips to make sure you're ready to hit the road
- Be sure to check your battery. Dead batteries need to be charged or replaced.
- Tires need to be carefully inspected for low tread or cracks.
- Make sure your helmet's still suitable for the open road, check the build date under the comfort liner (remember: useful life is seven years from production: five years after first use).
Check your gear for wear and tear
- Are those gloves losing their grip? If you are using the same pair of gloves for years, consider throwing them off and buying a new pair.
- A pair of comfortable boots will help you on longer rides, along with protecting you from exhaust pipes and road debris.
- A good quality jacket, can last you a few years. But you should replace your jacket only when the components are worn out – think zipper, velcro, etc
