HJC V60 Helmet - Blast from the Past
Ahh, the 80’s, a decade highly reminisced. Gone but not forgotten and for the motorbike scene, highly cherished. The dual shocks, banana seats, even big ol’ gas tanks atop steel tubing frames, or the minimalist simplicity seen in the retro headsavers. It all may be a thing of the past but, man, do we love it when an 80’s bike comes around looking mint and we can find a modernized lid to match. Old school is back and it’s the new black. Paying homage to that retro flare, HJC recreated the once FG-01 as the new V60, the modernized take on a retro classic, suitable to match your cafe racer rebuilds, bobber mods, or scrambler resurrections.
Blast From The Past
It’s back to the future, hooligan. HJC’s new V60 is a blast from the past. They dug out their greatest hits cassette, pushed play, and pulled the dusty but beautifully vintage FG off the shield. With inspiration from the new age moto movement, HJC saw fit to remaster the classic. The new V60 is crafted with a modern touch using premium materials, giving the retro model a radical face lift, and one for on or off road. It’s got an Advanced Fiberglass Composite shell, designed by CAD technology, keeping it compact and lightweight while providing new-era protection. The interior uses HJC’s Supercool Advanced Silver material which is ultra moisture-wicking, odor resistant, and antibacterial. The 3D padding is also fully removable to allow washing and custom fitting. Equipped with the goods of today, this thing is a well-oiled machine. Aesthetically, the modernly vintage appeal of the V60 grabs your attention. The stainless steel mesh vents are simple, yet classy, not to mention the hide-away drop-down visor that completes the contemporary vibe check.
Retro Style
This new FG rendition is like your favorite VHS remastered, complete with new-fashioned quality and old school charisma. The stripped down, sleek design has tasteful features that make it look as radical as it feels. Nothing beats a killer retro style and the new V60 wills you to play the B-sides and fit you to your custom build. It’s like stepping into Stranger Things but on two wheels.
